WP5 - System Demonstrators
WP5 System Demonstrators is an essential part of SOIL project aiming to solidify the European FDSOI ecosystem. This work package focuses on developing system-level demonstrators that showcase the benefits and capabilities of FDSOI technology in real-world applications. WP5 gathers the following 7 System Demonstrators:
- Microphone Array/Sensor Fusion
- ASA-ML High-Speed Wireline Link
- Rad-hard
- Automotive In-Cabin Monitoring
- Active Noise Cancellation
- AI-based Inference for Deep Edge Sensor Data Processing
- Zero-Energy Communication
The objectives of the system demonstrators are:
O5.1 Develop system-level demonstrators that showcase the benefits of FDSOI technology in real-world applications
O5.2 Demonstrate the capabilities of FDSOI technology in the application fields:
- a) Automotive
- b) Space
- c) Telecommunications
O5.3 Validate the reliability and robustness of FDSOI-based systems in harsh operating environments
O5.4 Foster collaborations between academia, research institutes, and industry partners to accelerate the industrial deployment of FDSOI technology
The challenges of the system demonstrator developments are:
- Developing system-level demonstrators that meet the stringent requirements of real-world applications, such as power efficiency, high performance, and reliability
- Ensuring the interoperability of FDSOI-based systems with existing technologies and standards
- Overcoming the design and manufacturing challenges associated with FDSOI technology, such as variability and process complexity
- Securing resources and equip these resources for developing and testing FDSOI-based system demonstrators
- Validate the reliability and robustness of FDSOI-based systems in harsh operating environments
Overall, WP5 System Demonstrators is a critical part of the SOIL project aiming to accelerate the adoption and industrial deployment of FDSOI technology.
