Enhancing the radio-frequencies performances for both 28FDSOI and 22FDX

ST will validate the compatibility of FDSOI substrate suitable for embedding both digital, analog and eNVM functions, whilst enhancing the radio-frequencies performances. A full set of components, active and passive, will be characterized and/or optimized, with the target to enhance RF devices portfolio of FDSOI based technologies offering eNVM devices. Proof of concept of basic cells that enables the IoT UWB will be demonstrated.

GlobalFoundries will investigate to obtain high frequency components and BEOL wiring with minimized parasitic (Resistance &Capacitor) and passive losses, great linearity and RF reliability for advanced FD-RF SOI. These studies will include the optimization of power consumption and efficiency of PA power cells, the development of RF/mm-wave switches, of novel devices for Wifi/IoT applications and devices for mm-wave applications. A proof of concept for passive performance in RF/mm-wave applications will be demonstrated.
